Pasztor Vasile works as a machine operator at Aviva, which uses engineered wood to produce kitchen and dining worktops for IKEA. Engineered wood consists of a core layer made of particleboard and a top layer made of solid wood. In the factory, wooden bricks are cut into lamellas and glued and pressed together to create a top layer. The top layer is then applied to a particle board. Photo: Per Mikaelsson
